As a Partner at KORNFELD MACKOFF SILBER LLP, Lana Li maintains a broad
commercial litigation practice with particular emphasis on commercial
landlord/tenant disputes, equipment and lease disputes, creditors'
remedies, and select business immigration issues.
Lana routinely advises on lease defaults and terminations. She has
conducted numerous Supreme Court trials and mediations and has appeared
in the Federal Court and the Tax Court. Lana's diverse practice involves
some personal injury defense, including acting on behalf of an American
insurer, as well as a small amount of family law.
From 1995-1998, Lana was an adjunct professor the University of British
Columbia Faculty of Law, teaching Creditor's Remedies. She has authored
a number of articles and has been published by the Canadian Bar Association
and the Continuing Legal Education Society. Born in Kowloon, Hong
Kong and raised in Vancouver, Lana received her law degree from the
University of British Columbia and was called to the Bar in 1989.
She represents her clients both in English and Cantonese.
Lana is a member of the Civil Litigation and Women Rainmakers subsections
of the Canadian Bar Association. She is an elected member of the CBA
Provincial Council, Chair of the Court Services Committee, and serves
on the Advisory Committee to Judicial Council and the Childcare Working
Group with the CBA. She is a Director of the Continuing Legal Education
Society and sits on the organization's executive. Lana is married
and the proud mother of two sons.
