CICPR PUBLIC FORUM ON AIDS MEDICINE

Kornfeld Mackoff Silber LLP is pleased to have supported the Canada-Israel Committee Pacific Region’s public forum on “Leading by Example in the Fight Against AIDS”, which took place on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at the Gordon and Leslie Diamond Health Care Centre at Vancouver General Hospital.

The forum brought together world leaders in AIDS medicine for a dialogue in the Ethiopian and Israeli AIDS experience.  Speakers included Dr. Dan Turner of the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center AIDS Clinic in Israel, Dr. Mark Wainberg of the McGill University AIDS Centre in Montreal, Dr. Dawit Wolday of Medical Biotech Laboratories in Ethiopia, as well as Dr. Shlomo Ma’ayan of the Hadassah AIDS Center in Israel. All of the speakers are noted authorities on the world stage of AIDS medicine.

 

  

         BATTLE OF THE BAR BANDS

Kornfeld Mackoff Silber LLP is happy to have made a generous contribution to the Canadian Bar Association (B.C.) Benevolent Society’s Sixth Annual Battle of the Bar Bands fundraising event, which took place June 8, 2007 at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver.


The Battle of the Bar Bands is the Society’s largest annual fundraiser showcasing some of Canada’s most talented lawyer/musicians. The purpose of the Society (a non-profit organization) is to provide assistance to lawyers and other members in distressed circumstances. The Society also strives to provide assistance to the families of such individuals who may be experiencing times of need and is often the last resort for members and their families, making the assistance provided invaluable to B.C.’s legal community.

Kornfeld Mackoff takes great pleasure in being a Team Sponsor in the 2006 JCC Maccabi Games which will attract to Vancouver over 1500 teens from all over North America, Australia, Britain and Israel to participate in athletic competition and, cultural and community service experiences during the week of August 13- 18, 2006.
